Online Money Management

Bookmark and Share

You know that mile-high pile of receipts you have stashed in the corner?

What? You have multiple piles?

Well, the days of meticulously entering those buggers into your money management software are O - V - E - R.

Introducing: Mint.com.

This online system (totally secure, I have no doubt, yeeeppp, nooooo doubt at all) automatically pulls information from your credit cards, debit cards, and bank accounts to show you exactly where your money is going (and going, and going).

And it gives you all kinds of charts and graphs showing your spending trends, as well as sends you an e-mail when an account balance is low. Or when you've overspent your grocery budget. (Again.)

It's your very own Money Manager, doing the dirty work for you. For free.

Oh, my receipts are still in a pile. But now I point to them with an evil grin and say, "Bu wah ha ha!! Never will I have to painstaking enter your data again!!!"

And this time-saving stress-saving idea is brought to you by today's Works For Me Wednesday collection of tips.

Party on. But don't touch those receipts!

will it help us lazy butts who can't seem to keep track of enough receipts to make a pile and thing "budget" is a bad word?

(cause i probably need some help, but only if it doesn't feel too much like budgeting)

I used Wesabe.com (which does exactly the same thing) for a while, but it wasn't long til even that was put by the wayside. Sigh.

Okay, moving didn't help with the "keeping on track" thing, but I moved last October!

Thanks for the tip!! My husband is signing us up as we speak. Maybe now I can get a better clue as to what happens at the end of the month. Money management is not our strong point. Maybe this will get us in gear.

Love the blog! Just discovered you a couple days ago through "Because I said so". I'm in the NW too. Feel free to check me out at Jaxonfive.blogspot.com

No piles of bills here.
No surplus of money to spend on luxury.

So no graphs needed.

Nice idea though.

You can find out what works for me ::here::
Have a wonderful day!
