Snarky Saturday: The New American Home
2008's "New American Home" was recently unveiled.

While it is quite lovely and has a number of "green" features...I have to wonder: Is a 6,725-square foot home really the "standard" we should aspire to?
When will we learn that excess does not equal success?

Wow...that looks more like a hotel or a resort, not a families home.
More is always better. I'm beginning to wonder if you're really an American. Just think of all the junk you could store in a house like that.
Ok, if a family has 8-10 kids, great. Otherwise, it's just too much. Speaking of which, do you ever watch Jon & Kate Plus Eight on the Discovery Channel? I think you'd like their sensibility.
Can't help but wonder: How many Ugandans currently residing in 16 x16 sq. ft. mud huts could happily move into that house and share the space?
