Christmas Card Consideration
I love receiving Christmas cards in the mail. Now, too bad my life is such a hairball of a mess to send any in return, but I suppose I'll get to that when the kids are grown and out of the house. That will be about the time my life has returned to Dullsville Deluxe, and then I'll have nothing to say.
Oh, who am I kidding. I always have something to say.
Oh, who am I kidding. I always have something to say.
But back to these Christmas cards and letters that I heart so much. I have so little time to enjoy them as they come in droves during the height of the holiday season.
But once we start undoing the Christmas garb from around the house, the cards get stacked in a pile and sat on the dining room table. Then each day, as we sit down to have meaningful and reflective meal times [oh, feel the snarkiness coming right outta your screen], we select one card from the stack. Then we pray for that family, thanking God that we have friends who are genius enough to make time come to a stop in order to send out their cards, and that they send them to us, their forever ungrateful and lowly friends.
Okay, well seriously, we do talk about the people (all good!! all good!!) represented by the card, and include them in our prayers for that meal.
It's a lovely way to start off the New Year, focusing on our friends and how much they mean to us. It's a tradition that I look forward to every year.

I got this same idea from a friend of mine a couple of years ago and actually posted it as my WFMW post. HaHa! Oh well...
It's so nice of you to pray for them.
Happy New Year!
I like that idea... Also - sometimes when the cards are being opened no one else is around to see who they are from or what they say...and for our young kids - a lot of times they don't even have a clue to who "Jennie Kripawaite" is.
How sweet! I keep all my cards on the fridge, but I need to pray for them! love it!
that is a wonderful idea!
