Seeing the Light
Son: "Mom, do you want me to turn on the lights so you can see what you're doing?"
Barking Mama: "Noooo!! There is enough sunlight shining in here! We don't need any stinkin' lights! It's a waste of electricity!!"
[Big pause.]
Son: "Mom, you know what's great? God makes the sun to shine on the poor people, too."
With that I was pulled out of my world care worries and into a moment of worship. It's a beautiful thing, this grace we experience each day. Our race, our income, our behavior---doesn't matter. The sun continues to shine to warm our skin, dry our clothes, grow our plants, light our days.

"But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being." (Romans 1:20, The Message)Some look at creation and can't see God. My child looks at the son and shows us the light.
"This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty." (Matthew 5:45, The Message)
